It is official... STUDIO Dan Meiners new space is now open!

It is a true work of art - way beyond just a floral design studio.

Entertaining | Clambake 2010

We held the 4th annual (gasp!) Clambake at our home over Memorial Day Weekend. As always, it was a fun night full of great food, family and friends.

I set a long table in the back yard - using the "Clambake Linen" I made 4 years ago... it has been a feature every year.

I snipped some blue hydrangeas from my plants and used a lot of votives, pillar candles, sage green plates and white linen napkins.

I hung votive candles from our umbrella - it created great ambiance.

The hydrangea plants are doing well! I created this planter from stones I found around our property.

Samantha and her parents - her first clambake! We started the night with a bruschetta platter :

Chopped Olive Tapenade
Tomato & Basil
Artichoke & Goat Cheese Spread
Toasted Baguette Slices

She was dressed perfectly for the occasion - baby madras and her mizzou rattle.

Our friend Caroline... note the beginning of the navy and white theme - never planned, but always happens!

Katie and Julie... more navy and white!

Cocktail hour - Mr. Darcy is looking for any dropped bruschetta.

I found the white buckets at Target in the dollar spot - perfect for our shells.

Recipes | Grilled Tuscan Chicken with Panzenella & Risotto

I love when my shopping cart looks like this - all fresh, seasonal ingredients... tomatoes, peppers, green onions, garlic, avocado, lemons, parsley, cucumber, thyme, basil... yum.

Grilled Tuscan Lemon Garlic Chicken

2 chicken breasts
1/4 cup of olive oil
6 cloves of garlic, minced
2 lemons, juiced (1/4 cup)
salt & pepper

Combine the above ingredients and marinate the chicken for at least 2 hours. Remove from the marinade and grill on each side for 5-8 minutes. Put the marinade in saucepan and bring it to a boil - reduce for 5 minutes to create a sauce.

Holiday Cocktail Party | Light Bite-Sized Hors d'oeuvres | Christmas Cocktail Party Menu

This is a great holiday cocktail party menu.  All of the items work great at room temperature and can be prepared before hand.  I like to have all of the items made and swap out duplicate trays throughout the night to keep everything looking plentiful.

I set the food display on their dinning room table - I like to do one-sided buffets instead of 'circling' around the table - I find it looks more impressive from across the room.

These are puff pastry triangles topped with caramelized onions, a slice of tomato, goat cheese & basil.

Artisan Cheese Tray with berries - always an easy hit.  Along with big hunks of blue cheese, english cheddar and a wedge of smoked cheddar, I used hydrangea leaves to dress up the tray.

Steered Beef Tenderloin cubes and horseradish cream on top of puff pastry rounds.  These are fantastic and impressive.  They work great at room temperature - always important for a cocktail party food display.

Anti-pasta skewers - spicy sausage, fresh mozzarella, marinated artichokes, sun dried tomatoes and fresh basil.
